Our Story
Anthony brings over 20 years’ experience in plumbing and heating to Smart Heating, having started working life as a labourer and in construction before deciding to specialise in heating engineering.
After gaining the necessary qualifications and skills to become a self-employed plumber, Anthony also completed his gas portfolio to qualify as a heating engineer. Following several years as a sole trader, Anthony established Smart Heating EA Ltd in 2015.
About Anthony
Anthony is passionate about why things work the way they do; about new technology and products. On his rare time off he is usually swotting up on the newest energy efficiency forum or looking at heat curves for different boilers!
His passion shines through when dealing with customers and he’s always ready to share his knowledge, provide tips and find the right solutions for your plumbing and heating queries.
On a personal level, Ant cares about the planet and is an avid scuba diver (before fatherhood)! He loves the environment and nature and in a business that deals in earth’s vital resources of water and gas, it’s important to him that we improve our sustainability and environmental impact as a company.

About Sian
Sian joined the business 5 years ago, following an extensive and fast-paced career in ports, both in the UK and abroad. Sian’s roles have included vessel, project, port and offshore personnel management for a mixture of public and private sector companies, and she brings firm organisation and process management to Smart Heating.
Sian’s main role, when not picking up the plumbing tools herself, is to ensure jobs are scheduled and completed correctly and to time, leaving problems solved and our customers happy!
Sian’s career started with Oceanography and Marine Biology, so it’s no surprise that she shares Ant’s passion for scuba diving (pre-motherhood!) and commitment to look at how Smart Heating can reduce our environmental impact within the Gas Industry.
About our Team
We are a team of six - Anthony, Sian, Hattie, James, Vlad and Archie, across our heating and plumbing services, and we plan to expand both our engineering and operational capacity over the next few years.
Smart Heating values grass-roots youth employment and development, and the principles apprenticeships and traditional avenues of recruitment deliver. We can attract the right type of people to complement the overall team dynamic, ensuring the sustainability and future of the company, with the right level of skills and experience to uphold the quality standard in years to come.
Ongoing training and exceptional customer service go hand in hand for us; our customers rely on us to know the latest options and solutions, so we train all our staff ‘on the job’, with supplementary specialist training to fill knowledge gaps as they appear, and as we learn and grow as a company.
We are part of IGEM (Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers) which gives us access to training resources and industry best practice, to keep our national and technical knowledge up to date. This is particularly important for us, as our interest in hydrogen as a mainstream energy source becomes more prevalent and available nationwide.
